It was a quite long brake in my work on Terrain Weekender due to personal traveling but last two weekends I manage to visit my local GW store.
The resolute after last painting was satisfying. First I was thinking of leaving the metal parts as they are but I watched once again GW videos presentations of technical paints and bought - Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust paints.
I proceed with the work on metal parts
- Layer: Typhus Corrosion
- Drybrush: Ryza Rust
It was my first time with the technical paints and I must say that the paints are good but I'm not so happy with the result. With the Typhus Corrosion I just cover some small parts of the terrain and recesses. My heavy hand with the Ryza Rust just make it to orange. I did some Nuln Oil wash over the most orange areas but still not so happy.
Lesson learned! With next terrain elements I will once again go with the Typhus Corrosion and very light drybrush of Ryza Rust because the effect can look cool.
Skulls & bones
- Layer: Ushabti Bone
- Wash: Seraphim Sepia
- Highlight: Ushabti Bone
- Highlight: 2:1 Skull White / Ushabti Bone
Because I'm working on a desert themed board I decided that highlight only of Ushabti Bone or Screaming Scull gives not enough contrast with the sand. I did another highlight by mixing Skull White and Ushabti Bone.
Space Marines parts
Because I never painted a Dark Angel Space Marine I decided to go this way:
- Layer: Caliban Green
- Wash: Biel-tan green
- Highlight: 2:1 Caliban Green / Moot Green
- Highlight: 1:1 Caliban Green / Moot Green
- Highlight: 1:2 Caliban Green / Moot Green
Imperial Guard Lasgun
- Layer: Mephiston Red
- Wash: Reikland fleshshade
- Highlight: 2:1 Evil Sunz Scarlet / Mephiston Red
Lasgun metal parts
- Layer: Leadblecher
- Wash: Nuln Oil
- Highlight: Ironbreaker
Reassuming weekend #4 behind me and I’m almost getting the two terrain elements ready. Some mistakes with the Ryza Rust but lesson for future.
Weekend #5
Last weekend with the barricades was just overall fixing and adding some small extras to the work.
The armour of Dark Angels and Lasgun look to new. I decided to add some small scratches by making a small black line. Over that line I putted a smaller silver line and light wash.
Scratch on armour and Lasgun
- Layer: Abaddon Black
- Layer: Ironbraker
- Wash: Agrax earthshade
Last element was the eagle on SM armour:
- Layer: Auric Armour
- Highlight: Runefang Steel
- Wash: Nuln Oil
- Wash: Agrax earthshade
And some overall pictures of finished work. Next terrain element is GW crater.
Bardzo dobra robota z małym minusem:) rdza za jaskrawa:) to moim zdaniem
